About The Position

This position reports to the Treasury Management Operations Manager. The Branch Business Specialist is responsible for overseeing the preparation and assembly of commercial accounts to ensure completeness and proper organization. They serve as a liaison between Commercial Lending and Branches to ensure commercial banking accounts, small business loans, and business credit cards are set up properly and in compliance. The role involves working commercial account pipelines, understanding commercial account documentation, commercial retail lending, cross-selling Landmark’s products and services, and obtaining all required documentation. The specialist will travel to various branches to assist with opening complex Business Memberships, serve as a mentor and trainer for branch personnel, and audit account files for completeness and accuracy.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent
A minimum of three years of experience as a personal financial officer or comparable position.
Proven knowledge of the business/commercial banking account life cycle with a thorough understanding of account documentation requirements and auditing procedures.
Ability to work through the process of small business auto loans and credit cards.
Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service for members and business partners.
Experience or ability to gain proficiency in all relevant programs and systems used for this job including Microsoft Word, Excel, Temenos and/or other analysis software.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, organizational skills, and the ability to work independently as a valuable team member in a dynamic environment.
Must have a thorough understanding of company policies and procedures as they relate to this position.
Must understand and comply with all job-related State and federal laws and regulations.

Nice To Haves

Preferred experience working with business/commercial banking accounts including documentation and auditing.

Responsibilities

Works commercial account pipelines, understands commercial account/lending documentation, and follows through to obtain all required documentation from members, Commercial Lending, and the Branches.
Oversees the process of preparation and assembly of commercial accounts to ensure completeness and proper organization.
Oversees the process of preparation and assembly of small business lending accounts to ensure completeness and proper organization.
Serves as mentor and trainer for all branch personnel and assists other associates when needed.
Works with and travels to branches to assist in opening complex Business Memberships.
Maintains and audits all business account files.
Develops outbound business development.
Serves as a support system to credit union personnel and assists members with their commercial account phone inquiries.
Cross sells other products and services to members including checking accounts, certificate of deposit, business credit cards, and money market accounts.
Ongoing training to stay apprised of rapidly changing procedures, policies, and compliance changes in the business area.
Performs other duties as assigned.
