About The Position

Skilled Trades Specialists is seeking Brake Press Operators for a local fabrication shop. This is a long-term job opportunity with the opportunity to grow. Requirements

• Previous experience operating brake press, plasma, shear, or similar equipment in a manufacturing or metal fabrication environment.
• Proficiency in reading blueprints and interpreting engineering drawings.
• Familiarity with stamping press operations and the use of calipers, micrometers, milling machines, and other precision measuring instruments.
• Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) principles.
• Ability to use hand tools and operate overhead cranes for material handling.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.

Nice To Haves

• Experience programming press brake machines.
• Familiarity with CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines; preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate machines to bend, form, cut, and shape metal sheets according to blueprints and specifications.
• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work orders to determine machine setup, production methods, and sequence of operations.
• Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
• Perform routine maintenance on press brake machines to ensure optimal performance.
• Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot issues and make necessary adjustments to achieve desired results.
• Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
