About The Position

Our Community Support Services (CSS) team provides essential services that enable our clients to thrive. Whether their disability is physical, the result of brain injury, or aging, our more than 2,000 team members assist clients in their homes and across communities, to live as independently as possible. The opportunity: We are currently looking to fill 4 new opportunities for a Part-Time Brain Injury Rehabilitation Workers in Iqaluit, NU. Flexible schedule: Day and evening shifts including weekdays and weekends. Starting wage: $35.53 per hour. Hours: Various hours per week.

Requirements

  • Post-Secondary in Human or Social Services preferred or Rehabilitation Assistant diploma
  • Minimum of three years’ experience in Human Services field and/or working with people with ABI
  • Current CPR, First Aid is an asset
  • Access to vehicle to use for business and valid driver’s license
  • Proven consistency in work performance, including reliability and flexibility
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills
  • Sound problem solving skills
  • Proven ability to work independently / autonomously
  • Knowledge of and experience working with local community housing and social services resources
  • Ability to speak, read, and write English

  • French-English bilingualism an asset

Responsibilities

  • Implement individualized support services plans within the home and/or community for adults with brain injury (BI)
  • Assist individuals with brain injury in instrumental activities of daily living, cognitive and problem-solving skills, community orientation and integration
  • Provide services on a flexible basis during weekday business hours
  • Reporting responsibilities including daily log note recording, incident reports, and verbal reports as required
  • Participate in training as required
  • Follow policies and procedures as required
