About The Position

Join our compassionate and collaborative team as a Brain Injury Employment Specialist, where you will play a vital role in supporting individuals in achieving meaningful employment and long‑term vocational success. This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by providing individualized career planning, job development, and ongoing employment support to clients with brain injuries and other barriers to employment. In this role, you will work closely with clients, employers, and community partners to develop employment opportunities, support job placement and retention, and ensure services are aligned with each client’s goals, strengths, and abilities.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Knowledge of employment services and support for individuals with disabilities
  • Understanding of mental health and/or substance use disorder recovery principles
  • Strong communication and relationship‑building skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills
  • Proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries
  • Willingness and ability to travel frequently within the community

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience providing employment or vocational services preferred

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement individualized vocational service plans for clients
  • Provide career planning, job development, placement, and retention support
  • Conduct interviews and assessments to identify client strengths, needs, and employment goals
  • Assist clients with benefits planning and decision-making related to employment
  • Teach and reinforce job seeking, interviewing, and job retention skills
  • Build and maintain relationships with local employers to create employment opportunities
  • Advocate for clients with employers, families, and community partners
  • Educate employers on hiring individuals with disabilities and workplace accommodations
  • Support clients on job sites and provide ongoing follow-up services
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to client-centered planning
  • Maintain regular communication with referral sources and identify new opportunities
  • Track job development outcomes and maintain accurate documentation
  • Respond to crises or concerns that may arise at client job sites
  • Promote services through community outreach, presentations, and networking
  • Travel within the community to support client employment activities
  • Perform other duties as assigned
