About The Position

The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) is dedicated to protecting the health and environment of Colorado. This agency integrates public health and environmental protection, recognizing the link between healthy people and healthy environments. CDPHE's work includes disease prevention, emergency response, pollution reduction, water quality protection, health facility regulation, environmental hazard management, laboratory testing, vital records, and health promotion programs. The agency uses science and data to drive action, set standards, and collaborate with local agencies and community partners to address public health and environmental challenges. This position is term-limited, with funding not guaranteed beyond 9/30/2031. Hybrid work options may be available. The position is based in Denver, CO. Requirements

  • Must be a current resident of the State of Colorado.
  • Six (6) years of relevant experience in public health, healthcare, human services, aging services, community-based programs, or a closely related field, that included program or project management, contract or grant management, stakeholder engagement, and/or implementation of related programs or activities.
  • OR A combination of related education (degree in public health, health sciences, healthcare administration, social work, human services) and relevant experience equal to six (6) years, including program or project management, contract or grant management, stakeholder engagement, and/or implementation of related programs or activities.

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple complex projects or initiatives simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated experience independently planning and advancing work, including identifying next steps, anticipating potential challenges, and using judgment to move projects forward.
  • Experience developing and managing contracts, statements of work, or similar agreements.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with diverse partners and stakeholders.
  • Interpersonal and conflict management skills.
  • Experience coordinating stakeholder groups, advisory committees, coalitions, or other collaborative groups to achieve shared goals.

  • Knowledge or experience with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias, brain health, caregiving, respite, or healthy aging.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinating and implementing activities related to Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Dementias (ADRD), including support for the Dementia Respite Education and Access Model (DREAM).
  • Implementing ADRD-related Rural Health Transformation Program (RHTP) activities.
  • Coordinating across Colorado ADRD State Plan initiatives.
  • Managing contracts and project implementation activities related to clinician education, respite coordination, stakeholder engagement, technical assistance, and statewide partnership development.
  • Supporting implementation of evidence-based and community-informed strategies that improve dementia awareness, clinician education, respite access, and coordination of ADRD-related initiatives across Colorado.
