About The Position

This role is responsible for setting up, servicing, and breaking down assigned functions in a safe and accident-free manner. Key duties include reading Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) to understand setup requirements, setting tables uniformly, maintaining a clean and organized station while servicing guests according to established policies, and properly clearing tables and breaking down buffet setups. The server will also assist team leaders with buffet setups and breakdowns, greet and serve guests following service guidelines, handle guest checks and money according to procedures for a-la-carte and beverage orders, and complete assigned side work. Additionally, non-essential functions include knowing the menu for each function, explaining ingredients and preparation methods, and utilizing suggestive selling techniques.

  • Knowledge of menu items, including major ingredients and preparation methods.

Responsibilities

  • Use proper in-room clearing and aisle tray break-down buffet or other special food service tables and equipment.
  • Assist Team leader in setting up/breaking down buffet or other special food service tables and equipment.
  • Greet and serve guests following guidelines set by the policies/procedures regarding the service of food and beverage.
  • Follow all guest check and money-handling procedures when serving a-la-carte and beverage orders.
  • Complete assigned side work.
  • Know the menu for each function served and be able to explain the major ingredients and preparation methods for each item to be served.
  • Know and use "Suggestive Selling" techniques.
