About The Position

The Fall Season Boys Volleyball Coach will be responsible for leading and mentoring student-athletes, fostering leadership skills, and emphasizing academic achievement. The coach is expected to adhere to all policies and procedures set by the MIAA and GLTS, promote sportsmanship, and cultivate pride in the program, school, and community. This role requires a strong understanding of volleyball, strength and conditioning principles, and the ability to create a safe and positive team environment.

Requirements

  • Coaching experience in volleyball.
  • Knowledge of strength and conditioning principles.
  • High School diploma.
  • At least five years of experience.
  • Concussion Education Certification.
  • CPR/AED Certification.
  • MIAA Coaches Education Certification.
  • Completion of ArxED Training.
  • Sport Specific Training - NFHS approved courses.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of sport-specific rules, strategies, and techniques.
  • Familiarity with MIAA/GLTS regulations.
  • Familiarity with proper conditioning and training practices.
  • Familiarity with emergency procedures, including CPR and AED.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate positive character and promote sportsmanship both on and off the field.
  • Foster leadership skills in student-athletes.
  • Emphasize the importance of academic achievement.
  • Cultivate pride within their program, school, and the broader community.
  • Lead, motivate, and mentor student-athletes.
  • Ensure a safe, structured, and positive team environment.
  • Manage conflicts.
  • Coordinate schedules.
  • Cultivate positive relationships with students/players, parents/caregivers, and colleagues.
