About The Position

The Brunswick School Department is seeking candidates for the position of Boys Varsity Ice Hockey Coach. This role requires exceptional knowledge of ice hockey and proven ability to work with high school athletes. The coach will be responsible for fostering a positive and meaningful experience for student-athletes, developing sportsmanship, setting high standards, and connecting with the team. The position also involves growing the sport within the community.

Requirements

• Current background/fingerprinting certificate through the Maine Dept. of Education.
• Exceptional knowledge of ice hockey.
• Proven ability working with high school athletes.
• Demonstrated interest in and ability to grow the sport in our community.
• Demonstrated commitment to fostering a positive and meaningful experience for every student-athlete.
• Dedication to developing sportsmanship, setting high standards on and off the field, and connecting with student-athletes.
• Must have, or have the ability to attain, MPA Coaching certifications in: Foundations of Coaching, Sudden Cardiac Arrest, Concussion, Heat Acclimatization, Protection from Abuse, Student Health/Suicide Prevention, Implicit Bias and Bullying, Hazing and Inappropriate behavior.
• Must have, or have the ability to attain, current First Aid and CPR/AED certification.

• Previous coaching experience associated with the varsity level of this position.
