About The Position

Belle Creek Charter School is a K-8 school located in Henderson, CO, offering a rich learning experience with a focus on the Core Knowledge curriculum. For K-3 students, the Orton-Gillingham approach is used, aligning with the Science of Reading. The school is looking to expand its coaching team and is seeking a Boys' Basketball Coach for 6th-8th grade athletes. The season begins in October 2026, and the position is looking to be filled ASAP. The coach will be responsible for supervising and coaching student athletes, building sportsmanship, fitness, and excitement for basketball, and coordinating with the Athletic Director.

Requirements

Previous coaching experience preferred
Demonstrated success and positivity in coaching programs
Knowledge of all aspects of the skills and an understanding of the basic rules involved with this sport
Strong communication and organizational skills
Excellent goal setting and team building skills
Applicants must be able to successfully pass a background check performed by the school
NFHS Concussion Certification required prior to coaching athletes

Responsibilities

Supervision and coaching of student athletes at all levels of the program
Build sportsmanship, fitness, and excitement in students through effectively coaching basketball teams
Coordinate with the Athletic Director for use of the field and facilities
Participate and help with award banquets
Distribute and collect uniforms and maintain an inventory of equipment and supplies
Communicate with the Athletic Director about student athletes� needs, incidents, and all other concerns related to the program
Follow league, district, and CHSAA/NFHS policies and regulations
Other duties as assigned
Demonstrate the ability to instruct student athletes in fundamental skills and basic rules required to play basketball
