About The Position

A Townsend Building Supply, a division of Carter Lumber, Box Truck Helper provides customer service to contractors and do-it-yourselfers by helping customers select and load purchased items, building loads, and gathering materials for delivery. The position also assists with maintaining an efficient, clean, and organized lumber yard. Inventory control, product knowledge, and organization skills are important, along with a strong belief in the company’s mission and goals.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a customer service environment.
• Friendly, outgoing personality.
• Ability to participate effectively as a team member.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Meet and greet contractors and do-it-yourselfers and provide exceptional customer service by helping select and load materials.
• Accurately pull and stage materials for pickup or delivery to help ensure schedules are met.
• Help maintain yard inventory by conducting cycle counts, keeping the yard organized, and ensuring the correct materials are shipped and received.
• Follow yard policies and procedures, including those related to sales, inventory, and safety.
• Properly use and maintain equipment.
• Identify personal growth needs and learning opportunities.
• Complete required orientation and safety training.
• Continue learning about products, packages, and procedures.
