About The Position

The Box Truck Driver is responsible for the safe, timely, and accurate transport of production materials, finished goods, and supplies between Techniplas South facilities, suppliers, and customer locations. This role supports the Logistics and Warehouse teams in maintaining uninterrupted material flow. The ideal candidate is a safety‑conscious, dependable driver with a clean driving record who takes ownership of their vehicle, their load, and their schedule in a fast‑paced manufacturing setting.

  • Microsoft Outlook (basic proficiency)
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)
  • DOT medical certification, or the ability to obtain one
  • Minimum of 1–2 years of box truck or commercial driving experience
  • Forklift certification, or the ability to obtain one
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and to sit, stand, climb, and bend throughout the shift
  • Willingness to work overtime or flexible shifts as production demands require

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in manufacturing or automotive environments is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Operate a company box truck to transport materials, components, and finished goods between plant locations, suppliers, and customers.
  • Complete and document pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections in accordance with DOT requirements.
  • Load, secure, and unload freight using proper securement, dunnage, and weight distribution practices.
  • Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment during loading and unloading.
  • Verify shipment accuracy against bills of lading, packing lists, and shipping documentation prior to departure.
  • Obtain delivery signatures, maintain delivery records, and return completed paperwork to the Logistics team.
  • Maintain accurate driver logs, mileage records, and hours-of-service documentation as required.
  • Plan and follow assigned routes, adjusting as needed for traffic, weather, or schedule changes.
  • Communicate delays, route issues, or delivery discrepancies to the Logistics Supervisor promptly.
  • Keep the vehicle clean, fueled, and properly maintained; report mechanical concerns immediately.
  • Support warehouse operations, including receiving, put-away, staging, and cycle counts, when not on the road.
  • Follow all DOT, OSHA, company, and customer site safety regulations at all times.
  • Complete other logistics related tasks as assigned.
