About The Position

Chambliss Center for Children is seeking two full-time Box Truck Drivers to work as a two-person team. This role involves traveling throughout the region to pick up donated furniture and other items from generous donors and delivering them to the two thrift stores. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-minded, physically able to lift and carry furniture, and enjoys helping people, all while supporting a mission that makes a difference in the lives of children and families.

Requirements

Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
No CDL or special commercial driver's license required
Must be comfortable driving a larger vehicle
Must be able to safely lift and carry heavy items, including furniture and appliances
Dependable and punctual
A safe and responsible driver
Friendly, polite, and comfortable interacting with the public
Comfortable lifting and carrying heavy furniture and appliances
Physically able to repeatedly bend, reach, push, pull, lift, and carry items
Able to safely navigate homes, businesses, stairs, driveways, and other pickup/delivery locations
Comfortable working independently while staying in communication with the team
Willing to help wherever needed

Nice To Haves

Previous box truck, delivery, moving, warehouse, furniture, or similar experience is helpful

Responsibilities

Safely operate a company box truck throughout the Chattanooga region and surrounding areas
Pick up donated furniture, appliances, household goods, and other items from homes and businesses
Load, unload, lift, carry, and move heavy and bulky items
Provide friendly, professional service to donors and customers
Follow safe driving and lifting practices
Complete pickups and deliveries efficiently and on schedule
Communicate professionally with customers, donors, and thrift store staff
Keep the truck clean and report maintenance or safety concerns
Represent Chambliss Center for Children and our thrift stores positively in the community
