About The Position

This position requires a reliable individual to report to work on time and work until route completion. There is no definite quitting time, and overtime is expected when needed, while complying with FMCSA hours of service regulations. The driver will complete deliveries to pre-assigned customers daily, with routes subject to change. Availability to assist other drivers or perform additional deliveries when required is also necessary. The role involves conducting pre/post trip inspections, properly logging any defects, and applying proper safety techniques while climbing in/out of the box truck and loading/unloading cases of product. Drivers must observe all federal and state traffic laws, drive with caution, verify accurate product delivery and payment (no cash accepted), and provide outstanding customer service. Communication with dispatch and supervisors regarding delivery status and issues is essential. The position requires heavy lifting, carrying cases of product, and performing various physical activities including sitting, standing, driving, walking, carrying, pushing/pulling, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching. Deliveries will be made in all weather conditions unless deemed unsafe by management. Additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must be 21 years of age
  • Must have at least 1 year prior delivery/driving experience with box truck or larger type vehicle
  • Must have and be able to maintain valid DOT Medical Certification
  • Must have and be able to maintain valid Driver’s License
  • Must be able to pass background check (i.e. police backgrounds, reference checks…)
  • Must have acceptable Motor Vehicle Record: Cannot have more than two (2): moving violations and/or at-fault vehicle accidents (any combination) in the past three (3) years (for speeding, violations must be under 16mph)
  • Cannot have more than one (1): speeding violation of 16-29mph OR at-fault accident in the past three (3) years
  • Cannot have a major violation such as: DUI/DWI, hit-and-run, reckless driving, and/or super speeder (29+mph) violation in the past five (5) years
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Must be able to report to work on time and work until route completion
  • Must be able to work overtime when needed (while complying with FMCSA hours of service regulations)
  • Must be available to assist other drivers or perform additional deliveries when required
  • Must be able to read, write and use basic math skills to interpret and calculate changes to invoices

Responsibilities

  • Complete deliveries to pre-assigned customers daily.
  • Conduct pre/post trip inspections and properly log any defects.
  • Apply proper safety techniques while climbing in/out of box truck and loading/unloading cases of product.
  • Down stack load throughout the day utilizing load bar and secure vehicle at all times.
  • Observe all federal and state traffic laws and drive with caution.
  • Verify accurate product is delivered to the appropriate recipient.
  • Verify accurate funds are received at the time of delivery (drivers will not accept cash).
  • Provide outstanding customer service and maintain professional business relationships with customers.
  • Communicate with dispatch and supervisors to provide delivery status information and if any issues arise.
  • Perform additional duties assigned.
