Requirements
- Ability to work unsupervised and self-motivate
- Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays and extended shift hours
- Sound work ethic, honesty and moral character
- Ability to work cooperatively with supervisors and coworkers
- Ability to follow directions and work in other departments as needed
- Must always use and maintain personal protective equipment
- Work in compliance with all company policies, NCC Animal Welfare Guidelines, and local, state and federal policies, laws and regulations
- Follow departmental and company safety policies and programs
- Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Stand up to 8 hours
- Lift up to 60 lbs
- Exposure to wet, cold environments
- Frequently reaching, bending, stooping, kneeling and crawling
- Work around raw, live animal odors
Nice To Haves
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Relative poultry industry experience
- Basic math functions and skills
Responsibilities
- Assembling boxes by hand and/or box machine
- Unloading unmade boxes from truck using forklift
- Delivering boxes to the box room
- Moving unmade box material from truck using hydraulic hand trucks (weight approximately 400 pounds) and then carrying stacks of box material (5-7 boxes weighing 5-15 lbs)
- Lifting unmade box material and placing into bracket of box machine
- Retrieving glue from supply room using dolly
- Performing lockout/tagout when performing light maintenance, cleanup and removing crushed boxes
- Putting trash and crushed boxes in trash vat
- Carrying boxes to wing belt, and placing lids on lid track
- Taking breaks 5 minutes early, and returning 5 minutes early to wipe condensation on line
- Cleaning up and covering boxes in the box room at the end of the shift
- All other duties as assigned
