About The Position

The Machine Attendant is responsible for setting up and tearing down all equipment required to run a given product. This role involves performing repetitive motions consistently and steadily. Team members must be capable of standing, walking, and reaching with hands and arms, and be able to lift up to 50 lbs when necessary. The position requires working in extreme temperatures ranging from 39F to 90F for shifts lasting 8-10 hours a day. Routine cleaning of the work area before breaks is also required. Additionally, the team member has an individual responsibility to report any potential deficiencies or practices that could compromise food safety.

Requirements

• Must have 6 months of work history with the same employer for the past 24 months
• Must have basic computer skills to load label formats
• Must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation
• Must be willing and able to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms
• Must be willing and able to lift up to 50 lbs. when required
• Must be willing work in extreme temperatures ranging from 39F to 90F for up to 8-10 hours a day

Responsibilities

• Setting up and tearing down all equipment required to run a given product
• Understand and be trained on all safety related responsibilities including proper use of lockout/tagout program, pinch points, proper ergonomics, etc.
• Read product specification sheets to ensure proper packaging usage, label formatting, etc.
• Communicate daily issues and needs with management, maintenance, packaging leads, warehouse and label maker
• Maintain proper operating speeds
• Troubleshoot minor equipment problems
• Notify maintenance and supervision if assistance is needed with troubleshooting minor equipment problems or more complex problems
• Perform all product packaging duties
• Perform repetitive motion on a consistent and steady basis
• Clean area routinely before leaving for breaks
• Report all possible deficiencies or practices that could compromise food safety
