About The Position

Scheels is seeking a Bow Technician to join their team. This role is responsible for servicing bows, including setting them up with accessories, tuning, repairing, and stringing them. The technician will also communicate repair processes and maintenance suggestions to customers, maintain an organized workspace, and attend training meetings. Additionally, the role involves stocking merchandise, answering customer questions about products, and contacting vendors for repair parts. The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED, or 3 months of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. The position requires the ability to perform heavy work, including lifting and pulling objects up to 100 pounds occasionally and 50 pounds frequently. The employee-owner is expected to contribute to a culture of delivering a personalized customer experience, maintaining a team-first mentality, adapting to change, taking pride in their work, and acting with honesty and integrity.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or 3 months of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Must be able to sit, stand, bend at the waist, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, push/pull, lift, talk, and hear with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Heavy work – Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • Must be able to also exert up to 50 - 80 lbs of pulling force regularly.
  • Associates are expected to follow all safety procedures and perform their job duties in a fashion that minimizes the risk of injury.

Responsibilities

  • Service bows including setting up bows with accessories, tuning bows, repairing bows, and stringing bows.
  • Communicate the process of repair and suggestions for ongoing maintenance to customers.
  • Maintain an orderly and immaculate appearance of personal workspace, archery bench, back stock space, and surrounding areas.
  • Attend sales and product knowledge training meetings when required.
  • Be knowledgeable to answer questions concerning location, price, and use of merchandise.
  • Stock shelves, counters, or tables with merchandise.
  • Contact vendors to order and follow up on repair part orders.
  • Assist with customer trade-ins.
