Bow Technician - Part Time
About The Position
Scheels is seeking a Part-Time Bow Technician to join their team. This role involves providing excellent customer service by servicing bows with accessories, tuning, repairing, and stringing them. The technician will also communicate repair processes and maintenance suggestions to customers, maintain a clean workspace, attend training, and assist with merchandise and vendor orders. The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED, or 3 months of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. This position requires the ability to perform heavy work, exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and up to 50 pounds frequently, and up to 20 pounds constantly to move objects, as well as up to 50-80 lbs of pulling force regularly. Safety procedures must be followed to minimize the risk of injury.
Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or 3 months of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Must be able to sit, stand, bend at the waist, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, push/pull, lift, talk, and hear with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Heavy work – Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
- Must be able to also exert up to 50 - 80 lbs of pulling force regularly.
- Associates are expected to follow all safety procedures and perform their job duties in a fashion that minimizes the risk of injury.
Responsibilities

- Repair of bows
- String bows
- Communicate the process of repair and suggestions for ongoing maintenance
- Maintain an orderly and immaculate appearance of personal workspace, archery bench, back stock space, and surrounding areas
- Attend sales and product knowledge training meetings when required
- Be knowledgeable to answer questions concerning location, price, and use of merchandise
- Stock shelves, counters, or tables with merchandise
- Contact vendors to order and follow up on repair part orders
- Assist with customer trade-ins
