The Bottling Controls Technician maintains the electrical and electronic aspects of bottling operations and provides technical capability to maximize production efficiency using PLC's (Programmable Logic Controllers). This role involves minimizing equipment downtime through effective troubleshooting of electrical and mechanical equipment in a complex distributed control system, and improving bottling line efficiency through changes to automated controls. The technician will utilize technical skills in troubleshooting, adjusting, and repairing packaging machinery, demonstrating literacy and required sophistication to manage PLC environments, as well as using mechanical aptitude to solve all mechanical and electrical problems in the bottling facility. They will assist mechanics with electrical problems, install and program electronic controls (VFD's, HMI's, PLC's), and install and terminate wiring for new equipment. The role also includes interfacing with vendors for support, providing daily support to the production and warehouse teams to ensure efficient operational efficiencies, and understanding ISO, Safety, & Quality Policies. Responsibilities also include maintaining backup programs of all PLC bottling line programs, staying current with the latest developments for packaging line control, and calibrating, testing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and installing all packaging instrumentation, control systems, and electrical equipment. Additionally, the technician will train new PLC technicians, maintain spare parts inventory, set up and modify parameters in vision inspection systems, maintain positive relationships with team members, and use the maintenance reporting system to record time and material usage, problems identified and corrected, and further action required.
