About The Position

Bottle Baby ICU Veterinary Technician The Arizona Humane Society is looking for a dedicated full-time Bottle Baby ICU Technician to provide care for neonatal kittens at our state-of-the-art Rob and Melani Walton Papago Park Campus with a schedule of 4 10 hour shifts including both weekend days 9:00 AM – 7:30 PM. A Day in the Life: As a Bottle Baby ICU Technician you will provide care and treatment for neonatal kittens. Bottle feed kittens, track feeding and care activities, and ensure kittens are kept warm and thriving. You will also guide and lead volunteers who are assisting in the care of neonatal kittens. Duties will include caring for other animals at the shelter and related duties as assigned in off seasons or slower intake periods.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Completion of a Veterinary Technician program or minimum of 6 months of experience in a veterinary hospital.
  • Must have experience feeding kittens and puppies.
  • Must love kittens and demonstrate a safe and humane handling while caring for them.
  • Self-starter who can perform and make a positive impact without direct supervision.
  • Be an effective communicator who interacts professionally with volunteers, hospital staff and shelter personnel.
  • Answer emergency phone calls from fosters and provide assistance.
  • Must follow departmental procedures for euthanasia including administration of drugs.
  • Proficient with windows computer systems.
  • Able to learn programs such as Chameleon (software used with animals in a shelter environment and enter information accurately and completely).
