Requirements

Extensive knowledge of machine-shop practice usually acquired through considerable on-the-job training.
High degree of mechanical aptitude and design skills from prints and drawings.
Ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

Specializes in operating Boring Mill machine used in making and maintaining jigs, fixtures or gages.
Planning and performing operations which require complicated setups or a high degree of accuracy.
Determine proper feeds, speeds, tooling and operation sequence or select those prescribed in drawing, blueprints or layouts using a variety of precision measuring instruments.
Plans and lays out work according to blueprints, drawings or other written or oral instructions.
