We are seeking skilled and detail-oriented BORING MILL MACHINISTS to join our Machine Shop and Manufacturing team. We’re looking for a skilled Boring Mill Machinist to set up and operate horizontal boring, drilling, and milling machines with accuracy and efficiency. You’ll handle machining operations like milling, drilling, boring, and reaming, while laying out workpieces, setting feeds and speeds, and verifying dimensions using precision instruments. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred. Completion of a formal vocational training program in Machining or related years of experience is preferred.
  • 7+ years’ experience as Machinist, Devleig or GNL milling equipment is a plus
  • Knowledge of shop mathematics, metal properties, and machining procedures
  • Able to read blueprints and set up equipment accordingly

Responsibilities

  • Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders to determine machining requirements and sequence of operations.
  • Set up and operate boring mill machines to produce precision parts according to engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Inspect finished components using precision measuring instruments to verify dimensional accuracy and surface finish.
  • Perform routine maintenance and adjustments on machinery to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
  • Collaborate with engineers and quality control personnel to troubleshoot machining problems and implement process improvements.
  • Maintain accurate production records and report any deviations or issues to supervisors promptly.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety protocols and company policies during machine operation and maintenance.
