The Operator will operate heavy machinery for construction or excavation projects in a safe manner, avoiding utilities and other obstacles. The Operator I, II, or III title differentiation lies in the experience and/or skill level of the individual. Operator I requires minimal supervision to operate heavy construction equipment and possesses and maintains all required Licenses, Certifications, and Registrations, as well as the necessary KSAs to perform all essential duties and responsibilities. Operator II requires no supervision to operate heavy construction equipment, possesses and maintains all required Licenses, Certifications, and Registrations, and has proven mastery of all Operator duties and responsibilities, with the ability to train Operator I and Laborer in essential duties and responsibilities. Operator III requires no supervision to operate heavy construction equipment, possesses and maintains all required Licenses, Certifications, and Registrations, has proven mastery of all Operator duties and responsibilities, possesses the ability to train Operator I, II, and Laborer in essential duties and responsibilities, is cross-trained in at least one other field position (e.g., Lineman or Splicer), and possesses and maintains an additional OSHA 30 certification.
