About The Position

The Boom Truck Driver position within the Rental and Leasing Services industry is a vital role responsible for the safe and precise operation of boom trucks used to transport, lift, and place rental equipment and materials. The primary objective of this role is to ensure timely delivery, accurate placement, and secure handling of loads while maintaining strict safety and operational standards. This position requires close coordination with dispatchers, customers, and jobsite personnel to support efficient logistics and equipment utilization. The Boom Truck Driver plays a key role in reducing downtime and ensuring jobsite readiness through professional operation and dependable service. Ultimately, this position supports overall operational effectiveness and high levels of customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Valid commercial driver’s license; Class B, CDL with appropriate endorsements as required by local regulations.
  • Proven experience operating boom trucks or similar lifting and transport equipment in a commercial setting.
  • Strong understanding of load calculations, rigging, and safe lifting practices.
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
  • Mechanical aptitude to perform pre-operation and post-operation equipment inspections.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in the rental and leasing services industry and/or Knuckle Boom Truck experience.
  • NCCCO or equivalent boom crane/operator certification, Class A, CDL.
  • Familiarity with jobsite safety protocols and OSHA regulations.
  • Experience using GPS and routing software to optimize delivery schedules.
  • Strong customer service background with direct customer interaction.

Responsibilities

  • Operate boom trucks to safely transport, lift, and place rental equipment and materials.
  • Inspect loads, rigging, and equipment before, during, and after operation.
  • Coordinate with dispatch, customers, and onsite personnel to complete work efficiently.
  • Maintain accurate delivery, lift, and mileage records.
  • Perform routine inspections and report mechanical concerns promptly.
  • Adhere strictly to all safety regulations, traffic laws, and company policies.
  • Provide professional customer service.
