Requirements

  • Valid Class 1 Driver's License with Air Brake Endorsement.
  • Clean Driver's Abstract.
  • Previous experience operating boom trucks, crane trucks, or heavy commercial vehicles.
  • Strong understanding of load securement, hydraulic systems, and safe operating procedures.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Physically capable of lifting and handling building materials safely.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Operate a boom/crane truck safely and efficiently while adhering to all company policies and transportation regulations.
  • Conduct daily vehicle inspections and maintain required documentation, including driver logs and inspection reports.
  • Ensure loads are properly secured and transported according to safety standards and weight regulations.
  • Identify and report maintenance issues or safety concerns promptly.
  • Transport and deliver building materials to residential and commercial construction sites.
  • Use boom/crane equipment to place materials accurately, including rooftop and elevated deliveries.
  • Work directly with customers and site personnel to ensure deliveries are completed safely and efficiently.
  • Represent Payzant professionally and provide outstanding customer service on every delivery.
  • Assist with loading, unloading, and warehouse activities when needed.
  • Collaborate with dispatch, logistics, and warehouse teams to ensure delivery accuracy and route efficiency.
  • Participate in cross-training and support various operational functions across the business.
  • Follow all health and safety procedures, policies, and training requirements.
  • Practice safe lifting, rigging, and equipment operation techniques.
  • Take every reasonable precaution to protect yourself, your coworkers, customers, and the public.
