About The Position

This is a seasonal limited position to assist in the bookstore with the back-to-school rush in August and January. This position serves as cashier, customer service, assists with processing and pickup of online orders, and other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalency
• One year of retail experience
• One year of customer service experience
• Cash handling experience
• Able to stand for long periods of time (minimum of five hours)
• Experience in a fast-paced environment
• Experience working with a demographically diverse population
• Able to regularly lift a minimum of 25 pounds

Nice To Haves

• Experience working in a bookstore
• Experience working at a Community College
• Proficiency in a foreign language such as Spanish, an East Slavic language, and/or American Sign Language

Responsibilities

• Assists customers with textbooks and supplies
• Assists with processing and pickup of online orders
• Ring sales up on the cash register
• Assists with the unpacking, stocking, and processing of textbooks, clothing, supplies, and food items
• Maintain bookstore supply and convenience shelves, restock as needed
• Contributes to the College Vision, Mission, Values, and Welcoming College statement
• Performs other duties as assigned
