About The Position

RecruitGo is looking for a Bookkeeping Associate who will be responsible for maintaining accurate and organized financial records for clients, ensuring timely recording of transactions and proper tax tagging in accordance with UAE VAT and Corporate Tax requirements. This role supports the accounting team by preparing schedules, maintaining documentation, and coordinating with clients for financial data.

Requirements

  • At least 1 to 2 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience is required
  • Strong Excel/Google Sheets skills
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Good communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is preferred
  • Familiarity with UAE VAT rules and basic understanding of Corporate Tax is a plus (training will be provided)
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Zoho, and Odoo is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Record day-to-day financial transactions including purchases, sales, receipts, and payments.
  • Maintain ledgers, journals, and other financial records in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, Zoho Books).
  • Monitor accounts payable and receivable and follow up on missing documents or clarifications.
  • Tag transactions correctly for UAE VAT purposes (e.g., standard-rated, zero-rated, exempt, out-of-scope).
  • Ensure all vendor and customer invoices comply with UAE VAT invoicing rules.
  • Tag income and expenses properly for Corporate Tax classification (e.g., deductible vs. non-deductible expenses, exempt income).
  • Assist in preparing VAT return working files and Corporate Tax supporting schedules by ensuring complete and properly tagged data.
  • Organize and maintain financial documents in line with internal policy.
  • Ensure all receipts, invoices, and supporting documents are filed in the correct folders (e.g., SharePoint, client archive).
  • Request missing documents from clients when required.
  • Verify the accuracy of posted transactions and correct any errors.
  • Support tax preparation by providing clean and complete financial data.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting standards, and tax authority requirements.
  • Assist Account Managers, Senior Accountants, and Junior Accountants during month-end or year-end schedules.
  • Provide necessary data, schedules, or classifications as requested.
  • Coordinate with clients to gather missing information and resolve queries.
  • Work with the internal team to ensure timely delivery of services to clients and ensure that client expectations are met.
