Requirements

  • Proficiency in QuickBooks Online Payroll.
  • Ability to verify pay periods and pay dates.
  • Skill in entering and approving employee hours.
  • Understanding of payroll components such as PTO, sick leave, vacation, holiday, overtime, bonuses, commissions, and reimbursements.
  • Knowledge of setting up new employees and verifying pay rates and deductions.
  • Ability to confirm sufficient funds in the payroll bank account.
  • Experience navigating accounting software like QuickBooks Online.
  • Ability to select appropriate pay schedules and employees.
  • Skill in entering and reviewing various types of employee compensation.
  • Ability to review imported time data.
  • Proficiency in previewing payroll and reviewing paycheck details (gross pay, taxes, deductions, net pay).

Responsibilities

  • Verify the pay period and pay date.
  • Ensure all employee hours are entered or approved.
  • Confirm inclusion of PTO, sick leave, vacation, holiday, overtime, bonuses, commissions, or reimbursements.
  • Ensure new employees are completely set up.
  • Verify employee pay rates and deductions.
  • Confirm sufficient funds are available in the payroll bank account.
  • Navigate QuickBooks Online to access and run payroll.
  • Select the appropriate pay schedule and employees for payroll processing.
  • Enter or review payroll information for each employee, including hours, salary, PTO, sick time, holiday pay, bonuses, commissions, reimbursements, and other compensation.
  • Review imported hours if using QuickBooks Time.
  • Preview payroll to review gross pay, employee taxes, employee deductions, employer taxes, other deductions or contributions, and net pay.
  • Pay particular attention to employees whose paycheck is significantly higher or lower than normal.
