Processes donated books to determine if they should be sold in the store or online by performing the following duties. This role involves removing books, CDs, and DVDs from bins, scanning their ISBN barcodes using the Neatoscan service to decide if they are accepted for online sale via E-books or if they should be sold in the retail store. Items that cannot be sold either online or in-store are placed in the trash if damaged. The position also requires keeping the workstation clean, organized, and compliant with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). Additionally, the role involves sorting and merchandising books, CDs, and DVDs on the sales floor by category, rotating and pulling older items from the sales floor, and placing them in the Return Gaylord. Maintaining and cleaning the work area, following SOP guidelines, and reporting any security or theft issues to management are also key responsibilities. This job has no supervisory responsibilities but may involve other duties assigned by store management.
