About The Position

This role involves two main functions: Book Processor and Donations Attendant. As a Book Processor, you will sort, price, and prepare donated books for sale according to store standards. As a Donations Attendant, you will greet donors, unload donations, provide tax receipts, and sort donations for further processing, all while providing excellent customer service. The position requires adherence to CARF standards, safety regulations, and a commitment to driving performance and community value.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Able to stand for two hours at a time over a period spanning up to eight hours.
  • Must be able to work evenings and weekends.
  • Able to bend, stretch, reach, and lift up to 40 pounds.
  • Able to walk or stand to a significant degree.
  • Able to move large boxes, furniture, and other heavy items.

Responsibilities

  • Sorts, prices, and prepares donated books for placement in the store.
  • Inspects donated books for overall quality and determines disposition based on manager's direction.
  • Prepares books for the store according to quality and pricing standards.
  • Uses pricing machine and adhesive price tags.
  • Meets or exceeds goals and standards of production and quality.
  • Accomplishes assigned cleaning routine.
  • Assists in the training of workers and consumers.
  • Greets donors graciously and promptly.
  • Unloads donations from vehicles.
  • Offers tax receipts to donors.
  • Reports an accurate daily donor count.
  • Accurately sorts and prepares donations for further processing.
  • Provides world-class customer service to all customers and donors.
  • Ensures documentation and compliance with CARF standards.
  • Maintains applicable safety standards, rules, and regulations.
  • Have S.M.A.R.T objectives to drive performance and improve Goodwill's value to the community.
  • Work with integrity and provide exemplary customer services to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Have key metrics that drive performance taking a leadership role in maximizing the social and financial return of the community resources invested in Goodwill.
  • Utilize the resources of the organization in an efficient and effective manner.
