About The Position

Responsible to contribute toward regular and efficient circulation of books in the store by effectively purchasing, pricing, and stocking merchandise. All duties are performed with a commitment to actively serve customers and employ the Bookmans Way.

Requirements

• Exceptional customer service skills
• Ability to sort and organize merchandise
• Ability to price merchandise
• Ability to stock shelves
• Attention to detail for pricing consistency and shelf presentation
• Knowledge of current stock on hand
• Ability to fill request list items
• Ability to evaluate merchandise for purchase

• Knowledge of current market trends

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service at all times
• Sort and organize incoming merchandise
• Price incoming books
• Stock books to shelves
• Maintain pricing consistency
• Maintain alpha/presentation on shelves
• Maintain knowledge of current stock on hand
• Fill Request List items
• Evaluate books (and other merchandise) for purchase at incoming counter
• Explain and negotiate (as necessary) deals with customers
• Maintain knowledge of current market trends
• Perform other duties as assigned by management
