About The Position

Texas Oncology is looking for a Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) Transplant RN Coordinator to join our team! This position will support the Dallas Medical City location. This position is typically Monday-Friday, no weekends or holidays, and no call. Hours can be Mon-Fri 8:30am-5pm or Mon-Tues-Thurs-Fri 7:30a-6pm with Wed off. Requirements

Graduate from an accredited program for professional nursing education, Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN) or MSN preferred.
RN state license and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in practicing state.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Minimum three years actively practicing as a registered nurse, including at least two years oncology experience.
Willing to consider a mid or senior level candidate.
Experience and knowledge of the purpose and use of chemotherapy in the treatment of cancer and hematopoietic stem cell transplant preferred.

Responsibilities

Reviews and reports the results of the health status assessment and physical examination, pertinent laboratory data, radiographic data and psychosocial assessment of assigned patients to the transplant physician.
Provides psychosocial support to patients and families throughout therapy and rehabilitation.
As necessary, facilitates communication among patient/family, physician and interdisciplinary team through facilitation of regular case conferences.
Facilitates or schedules consultations, pre-testing, diagnostic tests or procedures and future appointments required for admission to the program and throughout the transplant process.
Provides expert care for the transplant patient at all phases of the process consistent with established standards and utilization of the nursing process.
Provides patient, family, community, and professional education to those interested in the process of transplantation.
