About The Position

This position provides professional Imaging care. Assist the Radiologist with exams, correlates different exams with other technicians. Performs all radiographic procedures and all bone density procedures. If in a float position, must be available to work at any of HMA’s Imaging locations. Assists physicians and ensure maximum efficiency; set up for procedures and examinations; obtain X-ray and other reports for physician review. Triage patients to ensure productive departmental flow. Record health history of patients; note abnormal conditions for physician; prepare patients for exams and procedures. Maintain adequate stock levels of supplies. Set up and stock exam rooms for daily use; keep rooms and equipment clean between procedures. Follow clinic policies for infection control in handling and disposing of infectious/hazardous waste materials. Adhere to Quality Control Guidelines, including all reports. Adhere to Service Standards. Perform other tasks as needed. Must have predictable and consistent attendance.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited Radiology Technical Program
  • Valid state Radiologic Technologist registration in both X-ray and Bone Density
  • Valid State of Tennessee License for X-ray
  • Knowledge of the principles and skills needed for X-Ray to provide excellent patient care and treatment
  • Knowledge of examination, diagnostic, and treatment room procedures
  • Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment
  • Skill in using various types if equipment for examination and treatment procedures
  • Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, and the public
  • Ability to maintain quality control standards
  • Ability to recognize problems and recommend solutions
  • Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situation
  • Ability to interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and procedures
  • Ability to communicate clearly
  • Computer knowledge required
