About The Position

The Bonder III bonds dissimilar composite or metal materials and assemblies, parts, skins, components, or structures into semi-finished or finished products. The role includes laying out articles, cutting materials to size, applying bonding agents, and performing bagging and debulking processes. The position may involve operating autoclaves, hot bonders, and ovens, and setting controls to manage heat, pressure, and timing according to material and bonding-agent specifications. The Bonder III also sands, deburrs, and smooths surfaces; applies sealing resins to cut or exposed edges; monitors finished-product quality; and repairs bonded composite, metal, or laminate products according to inspection and rework instructions. The position follows company policies and directions, documents work through the Quality Management System, and notifies the immediate supervisor of suspected un-airworthy conditions. With normal supervision, the Bonder III cleans, disassembles, and identifies components; reads and interprets blueprints, technical manuals, and planning documents; applies conversion coatings and sealants; completes basic repairs; and develops job knowledge through on-the-job training with higher-grade mechanics. The role also includes maintaining necessary hand tools, cleaning the work area, understanding basic computer processes used in daily operations, and performing other assigned duties.

Requirements

Read, write, and understand English fluently.
Learn and understand information and communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
Read and understand blueprints and technical manuals.
Have a good understanding of blueprints, technical manuals, and planning documents with normal supervision.
Have a basic understanding of computer processes involved in daily operations.

Responsibilities

Bond dissimilar composite or metal materials and assemblies, parts, skins, components, or structures into semi-finished or finished products.
Lay out articles and cut parts or materials to size.
Apply liquid or solid bonding agents and perform bagging and debulking processes.
Operate autoclaves, hot bonders, and ovens as needed to complete bonding cycles.
Set and operate controls for heat, pressure, and timing according to material and bonding-agent specifications.
Sand, deburr, and smooth areas, and apply sealing resins to cut or exposed edges.
Monitor and verify the quality of finished products.
Repair composite, metal, or laminate bonded products using inspection and rework instructions.
Follow company policies, procedures, directions, and instructions.
Process forms and document work using endorsements in accordance with the Quality Management System.
Notify the immediate supervisor of suspected un-airworthy conditions observed while performing duties.
Acquire and maintain hand tools, if necessary, to complete assigned work.
Clean, disassemble, and identify components with normal supervision.
Apply conversion coatings and sealants using different tools and methods with normal supervision.
Work with higher-grade mechanics through on-the-job training to develop job knowledge.
Clean the work area when required.
Accomplish basic repairs with normal supervision.
Perform other duties as assigned.
