About The Position
Sets up and operates a band saw to cut metal stock to dimensions. Reads drawing cut sheets for specifications such as material, type, and size of stock, and dimensions to be cut. Obtains and transfers stock to the machine, manually or with a hoist. Records material cuts and scrap on drawing cut sheets. Able to measure work accurately for conformance to specifications using a tape measure. Marks identifying data on the workpiece (project name and drawing references). Bundles cut sheet pieces together and/or places them on staging carts. Willingness to cross-train and perform other job tasks as assigned.
Requirements
- Possess a suitable combination of education and experience to meet the requirements of this position
- Must be able to operate an industrial powered fork truck
- Must be able to work with various hand tools
- Must be able to work with overhead cranes
- Demonstrated proficiency reading and interpreting work orders and drawings
- Able to work independently or as a team player
- Able to take direction and communicate with others
- Have excellent time management skills, organized and detail oriented
Nice To Haves
- 1+ years of industrial experience is preferred
- Employ a friendly, outgoing personality, respectful of co-workers and ability to work with individuals to carry out goals of the organization
