Requirements

  • High school diploma/secondary education or equivalent and/or technical certification or relative trade experience.
  • Appropriate license or certification in specific trade position as applicable.
  • Minimum of 5 years in a regulated and automated manufacturing environment.
  • Candidates must be able to meet the physical demand of this position which may require continuous lifting and/or moving from 5 to 25lbs. weight material, and frequent lifting or moving average (25-50 lbs.) weight material.
  • Proven ability to interact with operators, management and groups inside and outside of Manufacturing.
  • Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Working knowledge of Production Automation Systems (i.e. Wonderware, MES, SAP) is required.

  • Pharmaceutical/ GMP experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform with minimal supervision all Boiler Room tasks necessary to operate, trouble shoot, service, adjust, repair and maintain equipment and utilities supporting facilities and manufacturing processes.
  • Monitor and adjust boiler utilities to improve equipment efficiency and implement corrective actions.
  • Perform routine cleaning, housekeeping and non-routine maintenance with adherence to all safety, environmental and quality policies and procedures.
  • Set up, adjust and troubleshoot plant operations equipment to operate efficiently, reliably and within compliance standards such as Air Handlers, Compressed Air, Chiller and Cooling Tower equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair a broad range of plant operations equipment.
  • Read and interpret equipment diagrams in support of equipment repair and design.
  • Communicate & coordinate with customers and stakeholders regarding schedule and impact of work being performed.
  • Provide support to manufacturing operations.
  • Develop and monitor metrics for utility processes.
  • Identify trends in data and metrics for improvement opportunities.
  • Analyze equipment information to propose and implement (with approval) improvement opportunities.
  • Perform the final checks for manufacturing facilities and utilities equipment as indicated in the Preventive Maintenance work order and Standard Operating Procedure.
  • Perform a combination of manual tasks including but not limited to sorting, inspecting, assembling, and mechanical servicing.
  • Support facilities team in ensuring spare parts inventory is correct and compliant.
  • Accurately complete paperwork and electronic transactions for all documentation requirements including but not limited to computer transactions, paper and electronic logbooks.
  • Order and receive material and perform the required identification and use on applicable business systems.
  • Operate forklift, manual and motorized pallet jacks as requested from management.
  • Maintain proper inventory levels of clean tools including ancillary equipment, pallets and containers.
  • Manage the removal of waste, collection of materials for recycle, and execute equipment cleaning and housekeeping operations in accordance to policies and procedures.
  • Perform and document equipment repairs as per Standard Operating Procedure directives.
  • Startup and shutdown equipment as per procedures to ensure proper operation.
  • Follow environmental health and safety procedures during startup, shutdown, trouble shooting, and operation of equipment.
  • Adjust equipment to optimize performance.
  • Troubleshoot equipment to minimize downtime.
  • Propose long term improvements to equipment as continuous improvement.
