About The Position

Aldevra is currently seeking a qualified Boiler Plant Operator to support the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Nashville, TN. This position is contingent upon contract award.

Requirements

  • Must be able to maintain VA Badge.
  • This position requires passing an extensive background check.
  • Must have 5 years of prior experience each working, installing, servicing, and operating up to 2,500hp high pressure steam boilers
  • Must be certified under the following courses and training:
  • OSHA 10
  • Safety Testing/BEI Video training (onsite completion before working independently)
  • Auto flame Factory Trained
  • Aerco Factory Trained
  • Direct Logic Factory Trained
  • C-More Factory Trained
  • Confined Space Entry
  • VHA Safe Steaming’ Course
  • 360 Training – Boiler Operator Certification
  • Requires a minimum of 90-day onsite training before an employee will be deemed as a fully Qualified Boiler Plant Operator (BPO) able to independently operate or maintain the Boiler Plant Operations to the full extent of required capabilities.
  • Valid REAL ID
  • Excellent verbal communication skills and telephone manner
  • Excellent and accurate written communication
  • Familiarity with Windows operating systems
  • Excellent attention to detail; accurate data entry
  • Customer Focused and team-oriented work ethic
  • Able to multi-task efficiently and accurately, focusing on quality

Responsibilities

  • Start-up and shut down of boiler(s)
  • Maintenance and repair required for boilers, safety device testing required, log pressures daily, and watch/maintain pressure alarms and gages. Not limited to these requirements.
  • Regular maintenance on Hot Well Tanks/Pumps
  • Maintain Deaerator (DA) tank
  • Operation of plant equipment and controls
  • Collecting, recording, and documenting of plant operations
  • Routine equipment maintenance
  • Preparation of equipment for inspections
  • Operation and testing of all safety devices and control equipment
  • Operation of emergency generators
  • Facility monitoring
  • Perform monthly (PM’s) preventative Maintenance
  • All other tasks as required by VA for utility systems operators.
