Position Highlights: Logistics: Contract Type: 1 year with 4 option years Schedule: After a 90-day training period, the BPO will work 2nd or 3rd shift Location: Nashville, TN Requirements: 5 years of prior experience, each working, installing, servicing, and operating up to 2,500 hp high-pressure steam boilers Certifications: OSHA 10, Safety Testing/BEI Video training (onsite completion before working independently), Auto flame Factory Trained, Aerco Factory Trained, Direct Logic Factory Trained, C-More Factory Trained, Confined Space Entry h. VHA Safe Steaming’ Course, 360 Training – Boiler Operator Certification Previous experience with the VA is a plus. What does a typical day look like for the BPO? You will: During the initial training period (90 days), the BPO will work from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm Monday to Friday. Emergency Shifts could range from 0800-1600, 1600-2400, or 2400-0800, and do not count towards a regular 40-hour shift. Once training is completed, BPO will have a 5-day on and 2-day off schedule of either all 2nd shift (4:00 pm – 12:00 am) or 3rd shift (12:00 am – 8:00 am) or a combination of both. Start-up and shut down of boiler(s) Operation of plant equipment and controls Collecting, recording, and documenting plant operations Routine equipment maintenance Preparation of equipment for inspections Operation and testing of all safety devices and control equipment Operation of emergency generators Facility monitoring Perform monthly (PM’s) preventative Maintenance. Other tasks as required by the VA for utility systems operators Equipment Includes: 3 Cleaver Brook high pressure Boilers Deaerator (DA) tank Hot Well Tanks/Pumps What qualifications do you look for? Requirements
