About The Position

Responsible for operating the boiler effectively and safely to optimise steam production. This role requires adherence to safety protocols, completion of inspections and quality control tests, and maintaining a clean work area. The position involves working shifts, overtime, and on Public Holidays as per operational requirements.

Requirements

• Grade 10 & Boiler certificate
• Minimum of 3 years experience
• Sound operating knowledge of boilers
• Mechanical knowledge
• Health and Safety relations
• Boiler operating skills - completion of log sheets according to law
• Self-motivated and reliable
• Able to handle and work under pressure
• Able to work shifts, overtime and Public Holidays as per operational requirements of the site

Nice To Haves

• 1 year experience in animal feed manufacturing environment will be an advantage

Responsibilities

• Effective and SAFE operating of the boiler as per steps in Boiler operating manual, checklists, SOPs
• Complete pre-shift inspection on boiler
• Complete pressure readings on log sheets
• Conduct quality control water test
• Comply with all requirements for Occupational Health and Safety
• Ensure that the work area and equipment are clean at all times
