About The Position

Columbia Forest Products is North America's largest manufacturer of hardwood plywood and hardwood veneer products. Columbia's decorative interior veneers and panels are used in high-end cabinetry, fine furniture, architectural millwork and commercial fixtures. This role involves operating two wood-fired boilers on a 4-days-on, 4-days-off schedule, monitoring key indicators, transferring wood fuel, and performing weekly maintenance. The environment is a dynamic manufacturing setting with moving machinery, forklift traffic, and machine noise.

Requirements

• Proficiency in the operation of two wood-fired boilers.
• Deep understanding of standard boiler operating procedures.
• Ability to provide constructive feedback.

• Adept at using personal safety equipment.

Responsibilities

• Operate two wood-fired boilers.
• Monitor water level, pressure, temperature, and steam load.
• Transfer wood fuel from storage to the boiler.
• Perform weekly maintenance duties, including cleaning tubes and ashes.
• Adhere to written and verbal job instructions.
• Provide constructive feedback and apply critical thinking skills.
• Use personal safety equipment.
