For your awareness, IFF has announced its intention to sell its Food Ingredients Business to CVC Capital Partners. The sale is presently expected to close in the first half of 2027, pending regulatory approvals and other closing conditions. The Food Ingredients business unit will remain a part of IFF until close and, at such time, it will transition to CVC Capital Partners. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Class 1 Operating Steam Engineer License (State of Tennessee) required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience operating high-pressure boilers and industrial utility systems.
  • Knowledge of boiler operations, water treatment processes, fuel systems, and associated mechanical equipment.
  • Ability to interpret meters, gauges, operating charts, and technical documentation.
  • Experience maintaining operational records, reports, and equipment logs.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to identify operational or maintenance issues.
  • Comfortable working rotating shifts, overtime schedules, and supporting 24/7 manufacturing operations.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills in English.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in a food, beverage, or ingredient manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with computerized utility monitoring systems and process controls.
  • Strong understanding of preventive maintenance practices and continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor high-pressure steam boilers and associated utility systems to ensure reliable plant operations.
  • Perform startup, shutdown, adjustment, and routine operation of pumps, boilers, cooling towers, air compressors, water softeners, and related equipment.
  • Monitor equipment performance through computerized systems and operational controls.
  • Analyze water quality and chemical balances while supporting water treatment processes and regulatory compliance.
  • Identify equipment concerns and proactively generate maintenance notifications to prevent downtime.
  • Maintain accurate operational logs, maintenance records, meter readings, and inspection documentation.
  • Support emergency response procedures related to utility systems, including fuel, water, air, and steam operations.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, quality, GMP, HACCP, sanitation, and environmental requirements.
  • Contribute to a safe and organized workplace by following all safety procedures and promoting operational excellence.
