About The Position

Liquid Environmental Solutions is seeking a Boiler Operator to join our team! This is a full-time opening with shifts starting from 6am to 3pm. The position requires at least a "Grade 2 City of Houston Boilers License". The role involves observing and listening to mechanical devices to locate trouble, dismantling devices to access and remove defective parts, inspecting parts for imperfections, adjusting functional parts and control instruments, repairing or replacing defective parts, and installing and testing new parts. The operator will also set up and operate metalworking tools, identify and resolve problems, perform preventative maintenance, understand PLC systems, and possess basic knowledge of electricity and welding. The ability to read, interpret, and write information clearly, as well as troubleshoot all equipment and adjust palletizing equipment, is essential.

Requirements

One year certificate from college or technical school; or two to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Stationary Engineer certification Grade 2 REQUIRED, Grade 1 preferred.
Able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Able to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Able to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Knowledge of Preventative Maintenance software.
PLC experience a plus.

Responsibilities

Observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble.
Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts and examine form and texture of parts to detect imperfections.
Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements.
Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments.
Repairs or replaces defective parts and lubricates and cleans parts as needed in accordance with food/beverage manufacturing quality system practices.
Installs special functional and structural parts in devices and starts devices to test their performance.
Sets up and operates lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts.
Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner and uses intuition and experience to complement data.
Performs Preventative Maintenance on equipment.
Able to understand P.L.C.
Must have basic (at minimum) knowledge of electricity and welding.
Able to read and interpret written information and able to write clearly and informatively.
Ability to troubleshoot all equipment and adjust palletizing equipment.
