About The Position

This is a full-time position operating on an evening shift. The role involves working 80 hours per pay period with 10-hour shifts, following an 8 days on and 6 days off schedule, always starting on a Wednesday. Holidays will be scheduled in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA). Requirements

  • High school graduate with formal training in basic electrical or electronic theory preferred.
  • Boiler Operator license preferred.
  • Maritime or powerhouse experience with boiler operation.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of equipment methods and materials used in boiler operation to include but not limited to electrical systems, pneumatic control circuits.
  • Knowledge of OSHA and MIOSHA safety standards.
  • Ability to operate power tools and complex test equipment.
  • Valid Michigan driver's license.
  • Articulates and demonstrates commitment to the philosophy, values, mission and vision of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Operate boilers and associated equipment.
  • Monitor and maintain electrical and pneumatic control circuits.
  • Adhere to OSHA and MIOSHA safety standards.
  • Utilize power tools and complex test equipment.
  • Work 8 days on and 6 days off, starting on a Wednesday.
  • Schedule holidays in accordance with the CBA.
