Temporary Boiler Maintenance
About The Position
The Building People, LLC, has a temporary position open for Boiler Maintenance between December 1st and March 31st. The boiler maintenance will have the responsibility of maintaining, testing, modifying, adjusting and repairing boilers, and associated equipment. Additionally, the boiler maintenance position must operate the boilers. Steam pressures, water temperatures, and levels are to be maintained at all times, and all piping, electrical, and control systems are to be serviced and maintained. The boiler maintenance employee shall make all necessary repairs and adjustments to boiler and chiller equipment to correct reported or identified deficiencies and maintains required operations. Repairs and adjustments shall be made in accordance with equipment specifications and manufacturers' instructions. Boiler Maintenance will inspect, maintain, test, modify, adjust and repair boiler related systems, and components at USDA ERRC.
Requirements
- Experience in boiler maintenance
- Ability to operate boilers
- Ability to maintain steam pressures, water temperatures, and levels
- Ability to service and maintain piping, electrical, and control systems
- Ability to make repairs and adjustments to boiler and chiller equipment
- Ability to follow equipment specifications and manufacturers' instructions
- Ability to inspect, maintain, test, modify, adjust and repair boiler related systems, and components
- Ability to record systems operating conditions daily
- Ability to repair and replace components
- Ability to clean nozzles and oil filters
- Ability to repack valves
- Ability to grease and oil motors and other equipment
- Ability to perform general housekeeping of equipment and spaces
- Ability to check and maintain motors
- Ability to check and clean traps
- Ability to adjust controls for safe and economic operation
