About The Position

Steelhead Bar & Grille is currently hiring a full-time Back of House Shift Supervisor position. We are looking for someone with open availability to work 30-40 hours a week. Two years on the job experience and/or a culinary degree is required. Steelhead Bar & Grille offers casual dining with a Northwest flair. Locally owned and in downtown Spokane, we cater to locals and tourist alike. Our customers come from all walks of life and from all over the world. We are looking for staff members that have the desire to bring our customers the best possible dining experience. Our staff is professional, fun and understands what it means to provide quality food and service. They have their own unique style and flair. Whenever possible, Steelhead Bar & Grille makes every effort to promote local businesses and bring locally sourced, Northwest inspired flavors to the table.

Requirements

  • Washington State Food Worker Card (WSFWC)
  • Two (2) years minimum in a high-volume kitchen and food operation
  • Proven leadership and motivational skills
  • Display a professional appearance and is a positive role model
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Passion for the highest quality food standards and food safety practices
  • Effective problem-solving skills
  • Self-motivated, driven and proficient at multitasking
  • Hold self and others accountable to a consistent level of high-performance standards
  • Willing to work a flexible schedule and weekends
  • Familiar with kitchen equipment and appliances
  • Strong work ethic, reliable, aware of the details
  • Team player with a courteous, friendly and professional demeanor
  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time
  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds

Responsibilities

  • Follow all policies and procedures
  • On time and attend all shift meetings
  • Assist in daily operations of kitchen, to include staff support, cost controls, inventory regulation, all safety and security standards including food handling requirements, ordering based on order guides, pars & profitability expectations, while upholding standards, product quality and cleanliness
  • Ensure sanitation and food safety procedures, regulations and laws are strictly followed
  • Ensure that all food products meet company recipe specifications for preparation and quality
  • Display good judgment and effective decision-making abilities
  • Ensure on-going staff development
  • Maintain a presence with kitchen staff during operations
  • Conduct staff meetings, when necessary, shift meetings every day and keep staff informed on new developments and upcoming events
  • Ensure a safe working environment to reduce the risk of incident, injury and food handling related issues
