About The Position

Dish Society is a chef-driven, farm-to-table restaurant that uses fresh, locally sourced ingredients for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and brunch. They are looking for a Back of House Operations Leader to support their Austin locations (South First & Mueller). This role is hands-on and involves leading from the line, developing team members, ensuring consistent execution of systems and standards, and supporting operations across multiple locations.

Requirements

  • Fully bilingual (English & Spanish)
  • Strong kitchen experience across multiple stations
  • Previous BOH leadership experience (Lead, Supervisor, KM, etc.)
  • Comfortable working 50+ hours per week in a fast-paced environment
  • Take pride in developing others
  • Lead with accountability, but know how to coach and teach effectively
  • Stay calm under pressure and can jump in wherever needed
  • Understand systems like ordering, inventory, and kitchen organization

Responsibilities

  • Lead from the line, setting the pace, standards, and tone for the kitchen.
  • Coach and develop BOH team members and trainers.
  • Ensure systems, training, and standards are executed consistently.
  • Float between locations to support where needed most.
  • Work all stations as needed (grill, sauté, expo, prep, etc.).
  • Support service during peak times to ensure strong execution and ticket flow.
  • Set the tone for urgency, organization, cleanliness, and food quality.
  • Coach BOH team members in real time.
  • Support onboarding and training of new hires.
  • Ensure training programs are being followed correctly and aligned with company standards.
  • Develop strong trainers who uphold and reinforce standards.
  • Maintain consistency in recipes, plating, and food quality.
  • Ensure standards are met on every dish and during every shift.
  • Identify gaps in performance and actively work to improve them.
  • Hold team members accountable while leading with respect and clarity.
  • Support and execute ordering processes.
  • Assist with inventory and food cost awareness.
  • Help ensure proper prep, pars, and kitchen organization.
  • Reinforce cleanliness, food safety, and health standards.
  • Split time between South First and Mueller based on business needs.
  • Bring consistency and best practices across both locations.
  • Partner with GMs and leaders to support staffing, training, and operations.
