About The Position

Under the supervision of the Body Shop Manager/Foreman, the Body Shop Technician is responsible for repairing damage to truck body and any other repairs necessary according to estimate and in compliance with factory and dealership specifications.

Requirements

• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.
• Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
• Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s.
• Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes truck damage and works with estimator to determine the cost of the repair.
• Straightens bent bodies, removes dents and replaces damaged parts that are beyond repair.
• Refinishes metal using a variety of tools from metal cutting guns to hydraulic jacks to small pneumatic hammers.
• Cleans work area before and after job for safe work environment.
• Procures parts.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Body Shop Manager/Foreman.
