Body Shop Technician 2nd Shift - Hueneme Port Team

This role performs major bodywork to bring vehicles back to factory standards and must be open to overtime.
Requirements
- High School Diploma/G.E.D. Required
- Minimum 3 years of direct Automotive Body Shop experience required
- Must hold a valid state-issued driver's license without restrictions
- Automotive, Body Shop, and Mechanic knowledge required
- Able to notate and list details of body shop parts required
- Body refinishing knowledge required
- Priming knowledge required
- Painting knowledge required
- Ability to read and write in English preferred
- Hazmat/Safety in Body Shop industry knowledge preferred
- Welding knowledge preferred
Nice To Haves
- PPG Certification preferred
- Any Paint Surface certifications preferred
Responsibilities
- Perform light welding (Stinger gun stud welding).
- Perform glass repairs (RR and RI).
- Perform metal preparation, work, and treatment (epoxy/primer/surfacers).
- Use all body refinish surfacers.
- Repair and refinish vehicles.
- Perform shrinking/sculpture metal panels.
- Execute blocking, wet sanding, hammering, and dolling procedures.
- Adjust doors, panels, and hoods.
- Complete Hazmat training.
- Apply safety knowledge of chemicals and equipment practices.
- Apply mechanic safety knowledge, such as how to disconnect vehicles properly prior to performing bodywork.
- Perform raw plastic prepping.
- Perform E-Coat prep.
- Resurface and refinish all (RR/ RI) of all vehicle panels and interiors and color matching for door jambs.
- Operate mixing bench, understanding how to weigh and use formulas.
- Perform body work on panels, glass, and jambs.
- Inspect and notate vehicle damage.
- Apply mask tape over vehicle parts/windows.
- Buff, Color Sand, Prime, Body fill, Spray inner jambs, Sealers and seam sealer for new parts.
- Remove/Install windshields.
- Apply undercoating and rock guard protector.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Benefits
- Pay range $29.76 – $30.94 per hour
- Plus $1.50 shift differential
