About The Position

Body Shop Technicians perform body and structural repairs on a wide range of commercial fleet vehicles, including medium- and heavy-duty diesel trucks, vans, trailers, and specialty equipment. The technician works in a fast-paced environment where turnaround time, safety, and consistency are critical to maintaining fleet operations.

Requirements

  • Experience performing body repairs on commercial or fleet vehicles preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of body shop experience (fleet or heavy-duty preferred)
  • Strong skills in: Dent and fiberglass repair, Panel replacement and structural repair, Sanding, priming, and painting
  • Experience repairing cargo boxes, including doors, roofs, side panels, and flooring
  • Basic welding and fabrication experience
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, production-driven environment
  • Familiarity with shop management or work order systems (paper or digital)
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Responsibilities

  • Performs body repairs on fleet vehicles including box trucks, service trucks, semi tractors, trailers, vans, buses, and specialty equipment
  • Completes tear-downs and damage assessments to support accurate repair estimates
  • Repairs or replaces damaged panels, doors, roofs, floors, and structural components
  • Performs fiberglass repair, dent repair, and panel replacement
  • Conducts surface prep, sanding, priming, and painting to fleet standards
  • Assists in light fabrication and welding repairs as needed
  • Works efficiently to meet turnaround time and uptime requirements
  • Maintains a clean, safe, and organized work area
  • Follows all safety protocols and OSHA requirements, including proper use of PPE
  • Utilizes shop equipment such as frame machines, welders, lifts, and paint systems
  • Works closely with the Body Shop Manager and the Body Shop Service Advisor to ensure quality, accuracy, and customer satisfaction
  • Document repairs and updates using shop management or fleet maintenance systems
  • Supports continuous improvement efforts to increase efficiency and reduce rework
