  • Knowledge of OEM collision repair procedures and structural repair techniques.
  • Experience using frame machines, measuring systems, and body repair tools.
  • Strong skills in vehicle disassembly, component replacement, and reassembly.
  • Attention to detail when checking body alignment, panel fit, and repair quality.
  • A valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Assess collision damage. Disassemble vehicles, identify hidden damage, and communicate findings to estimators to support accurate estimates and supplements.
  • Perform structural repairs. Use frame machines and measuring systems to restore damaged vehicles to factory specifications.
  • Repair and replace components. Work on body panels, bumpers, doors, fenders, and structural components according to OEM repair procedures.
  • Restore fit and alignment. Reassemble vehicles and verify that panels, doors, and other components fit and operate correctly.
  • Check function and safety. Verify repaired components, including safety systems and electronics, and inspect completed repairs against quality standards.
  • Coordinate repair progress. Work with estimators, painters, and parts staff to resolve repair needs, communicate delays, and meet completion timelines.
  • Maintain your work area. Keep tools and equipment organized, follow shop safety requirements, and assist fellow technicians during busy periods.
