About The Position
The primary focus of the Body Shop Technician is to repair damaged body parts and truck bodies according to work orders provided using hand and power tools. The Body Tech will follow directions provided by the Cosmetic Bay Lead and/or Supervisor.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Two+ years of previous experience in a body shop
- Experience using a wide variety of tools and equipment to assess and repair trucks
- Critical thinker
- Independent self-starter with time management skills
- Must be comfortable in a shop environment
- Must provide own tools & toolbox
Responsibilities
- Repair trucks cosmetically to OTS standards while following the work order written by the Service Writer
- Follow OTS work instructions during reconditioning process and complete task in OTS SRT’s
- Buffing, Polishing, Bondo, Sanding, etc.
- Re-assemble truck in a timely manner
- Keep work area and shop tools clean
- Clock in and out of ERP system and be on the correct VIN and segment
- Wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Follow all company policies and procedures
- Notify Cosmetic Supervisor of any safety issues in department
- Daily use of PC and business computer applications
- Performs other job-related duties assigned
